Spring...

...has not yet arrived. Even though we had a lot of sunny days and we did a lot of work at our little garden project, yesterday it surprised us with snow again. Tulips have started developing, saphrons were blooming and then the amazing white carpet of snow was layed upon our forests. Today was no diffirent, huge snow flakes have been dropping from the sky non stop and apperently it will be the same tomorrow. I love snow, we take these long walks or even go up to visit the doggies, but I did enjoy helping digging the roots out again and having fun with the sticks in the sun.

Magnus has been having fun burning old wood piles we gathered from cutting and pruning, but Emma and I, not so much. When we smelled the smoke, we did something my owners were very surprised at, we ran up to the pool, which is a pond at the moment haha, and dipped in, in case of fire or smoke reaching us. Very intelligent we are, hihi.

Even though we were supposed to be lazy and rest today, we couldn't resist, we put on our winter gear and walked thru the forest to the vineyards. I love snow! It was fun, but tiring. But it's great that we get so tired, I have learnt that if I whine for food really early in the morning, I mean really early like 5 am, my owners are so sleepy they forget that they fed me and I get double breakfast haha. Been doing it for the past two nights, poor people haha. They have figured me out though hihi.

So thats how it was this past 10 days, lots of work and fun, mostly really sunny outside with temperatures above 10 degrees and now, it's snow and cold. We took some pictures of the area we are starting to work on, where we played by the brook.

Tara and Emma watching us from the top of the "ziggurat"
Diving for snowballs which Mags threw me
Snow gathering on Tara's back, crazy snowfall today
Emma too lazy to walk down to us to play hehe

All is good...

The past few days have been really sunny and warm, so warm in fact that we could enjoy the walks without our jackets and today, a huge shipment of snow! It's been snowing all day. We had to go to the vet's office to check how my infection was before the antibiotics run out, and all was great! I have to finish the set of pills which were given to me and then it's done.

I was really nervous today, more then usual. So nervous that when we were leaving, Mags, Maja's mom and i, I ran to the carpet in the vets office and pooped haha. So embaressing. Owners were red in the face. It happens. My tummy went crazy, and even tho I was out on a walk before we went to the vet, I just couldn't hold it anymore. We cleaned it up and all was good. Funny though haha.

Once we were done and new food was also bought, we drove home to put it there and then we drove up to the vineyards, where to my shock, all was white.

I was shaking of excitement! I was soooooo happy. My favorite winter thing was back. I barked and jumped and just went crazy. I didn't wanna be inside at all. Snow. Snow. SNOW!!!! Yay.

My owners had to catalogue the plants, as many as they could in this high snow, so they can keep track of the newly planted ones, especially the roses. So we snapped some pics of how cute we were in the new snow.

Throw me a snowball already!

Hello!
Just cute!

Lyra sleepover

We are doggysitting Lyra since sunday, and she has chosen her spot on Magsys pillow, so now we are both royaly sleeping on the bed, snorring and having fun. However my health isn't the best and after yesterdays action packed day, I have been feeling very rotten and tired.
The day started out great, we woke up, ate, napped for a bit after the food to calm our tummies down and then we played. Soon after my owners got dressed into their winter gear and off we went to the vineyards. Snow is really hard and icy, but it was such a nice sunny day. Afternoon was perfect, they were planting plants and I was running around, stealing sticks from their wood shack and being cute and happy. Lyra decided to take a walk every now and then but returned when called. Untill she didn't. So we got worried and went to look for her, Emma and I put our noses on the ground and started tracking, Eventually we found her and walked up, but we lost Magnus since he went another way. It was almost dark and we were all very tired, we didn't expect the crazy girl would make us walk so much after such a long day haha. Once Magsy came out of the forest we headed up to the house and when we were offered a ride, we gladly accepted it, Lyra and I fell asleep in the car hehe. When we got home, we got dinner and both of us went directly to bed hehe.

I was in a lot of pain yesterday, couldn't even move and I was really cranky. It was the first time I got cranky and showed I didn't want to be even touched by anyone, so I was left alone and rested. Lyra and I slept for 14 hours before we woke up haha. We got our breakfasts today and went back to bed. I chew my antibiotics like a good boy and even though I am in a lot of pain, I don't complain much anymore since yesterday when my mouth is being cleaned with the medical wipes. Once I get a little more rest I should be back to normal cheerful me.

But the illness is taking it's toll on me and sadly I cannot be the polite playful companion for a bit, so Lyra who was supposed to be here till tomorrow is going home tonight. Which is a shame, but health comes before anything else.

As promised we took some pictures of my new hairdo, which is starting to grow out already, but it's still very practical in this weather. The snow is still huge, but with the sunny days ahead it should completely disappear and let the spring be as magical as it can be.

Hair before the cut
Even with new short hair, snow sticks to my fur
Hair grown out a bit, spring flowers in our brook
Posing for camera
Sitting on a pile of wood where we plan to make a garden

Lip fold pyoderma

Oh yes, I am back on antibiotics again, this time I have been actually properly diagnosed by my owners and my vetenarians were impressed haha. It all started with my bad breath a few weeks ago, which led to the change of food back to the medical sensitivity control which we know is safe. After a while it got better, but the breath didn't go away. Yesterday I started shivering and my owners took my temperature, which was below normal! They rolled me into a blanket and heated me up, and when caressing me they noticed, white pus on my lower lips, in the skin folds which I have. Soon they realised the breath wasn't the smelly part, the lips inflamation which wasn't noticable before yesterday was the cause of it. For some reason being allergic to food, or proteins causes me to get infections once my defense mechanism drops, this time it wasn't the ears, but the lips. I am such a sensative soul haha. It is a great thing my owners actually take me to the vet, so many dogs get ignored when in pain, the vet's say, since it's so costly. But my owners promised me when I arrived home for the first time, no matter what, I will always be getting the best care possible and I do hihi. I am so spoiled and loved.

So after barely sleeping all night, they called the vet's office in the morning and schedueled a visit in the afternoon, when the stomatology specialist is there.

We arrived there and instantly the vet comfirmed it indeed was the Lip fold infection, they took a swipe and performed lab tests on it. Magnus and I went out to check the snow and smell around a bit, and soon after we exited, another vet lady came to see me and she was amazed at Magnus for providing the correct diagnosys hehe. Usually, with bad breath it could be anything from stomach diseases to gum soft tissue problems. But my owners got it right after their research, lips it was. I have been having so many problems with my health lately that my owners are joking that I am a vetenarian encyclopedia haha!

Laboratory tests came back positive for many diffirent bacterias actually, so they put me on a wide specter antibiotics for two weeks. Also have to have my lip folds cleaned out twice or three times per day with medical swipes which really itch when used, but it's not that bad.Hopefully the pills will work and nothing else will need to be performed. We are all just happy we caught it and started treating it before it gets worse and I will finally be able to kiss people again, without the stinky breath haha.

Once were were done, I got a bag of cookies and we ordered a taxi to the vineyards, so I can enjoy the snow and friends after a stressful day. And oh boy did I enjoy myself...digging in the snow, chasing for the stick, stealing it back from Emma, after she stole it from me. Cookies! Play! What a fun day it turned out to be. Walking down in the snow, jumping and playing and once we got home, food, yummy yummy food and now....all us boys are sleeping on top of Magnus, while he is gently snorring wrapped in warmth hihi.

Puppy cut

Ever since I got ill my fur has been getting really wooly and entangled. The knots that formed on my belly are annoying and painful. Maja couldn't comb thru them anymore and all she could do was cut them out before they made a wasp nest in the area. But now with the clothing I had to wear due to extreme snow, my knots have gotten so out of control that my entire belly was covered in them, which is sad since she has been working so hard for me to have the "cocker" look. Especially the fur on my hind legs, which looked like cool pants hehe. But before I forget, I need to mention the snow.

The snow has been insanely high, one couldn't walk in it, I had to jump up the path all the way, really fun, but exhausting hehe. But all this "bunny hopping" exercise makes me really happy haha.

Snow is simply just the best thing ever. Even when my owners need to walk before me to make a path in avalanched snow, when I see them falling in the path up to their belts, I have no problem waiting for the stomped snow path they are making for me haha. But everything about the snow is fun! And my owners act like happy kids when we are outside also, which makes it even better. Tara and Emma cannot wait for us to come around and play in the snow, we bring this cheerful playful energy which everyone adores about us, even when we make their house completely wet with pawprints hehe. It's kinda funny knowing that Maja's parents house is always so clean and there are two huge dogs living there, but when I come around I make a mess within a few minutes haha, I cannot help it, my paws are furry and happy. Good thing my owners are so considerate and clean up after me, hihi. But then again, with fun like this, how can one stay dry in the snow, hihi.

We borrowed the neighbours orchard, since the area there is steeper and not as planted as ours, and poor Tara is scared of walking straight down since her knee problems, so she wisely just observes. Once she gets down to you, it's lots of worried kisses and licks from her, poor gal, she is such a huge worryball, she just needs everyone too be safe, awww cute. My owners borrowed a snow shovel, which they put to better use then shoveling snow with it haha.

But to go back to my fur being really damaged and dry, even with all the care and grooming, my owners decided to do something drastic! Something I could never imagine! They cut off all my fur! All of it! My back, my belly and my butt is now naked! Hehe. The only part that has some long fur is my ears and paws, since Maja decided that spending 7 hours having to lay still and cutting out the annoying sticky fur was enough. But I have to admit, when we took my new hairdo out for a test drive, being able to run around free without feeling like I have chewing gum under my armpits, I felt FREE!!. Man oh man was I running, peing, running, digging, running and being happy! It just feels so amazing not being in any discomfort. I am aware we are not done with grooming, my feet and my head are still left but so far so good. I look ridicules tho haha, my butt is so tiny, my tail looks like a rat's tail and my legs are slim and long haha, but yet I am still so incredibally cute. We don't have a picture of me just yet, since I had a bath after the walk and haven't dried yet.  So a picture soon, I promise.
