One year since I arrived home

Today marks exactly one year since I stepped foot into my home. Small, pretty and ready to be spoiled.
If we go down the memory lane and recap the year, my growth and develpment, we will all realise I am the perfect dog hihi.
In one year since I arrived with my owners, I have :
- not once destroyed any furniture
- not once do any permanent damage in the house
- not once ran away and had to be searched for
- not once acted agressive towards my owners
- not once bit a dog, unless it was playful
- not once hurt any creature we met in nature
- not once cried as a puppy, sad due to being taken away from my mommy
- not once not showed my owners I really love them
- not once made them regret for picking me...

the list could go on forever, but I will rather sum up what I have become, instead of what not:)
I have developed into an oversised cocker spaniel, who is quite a lot bigger for it's breed, guess that's what being a first born and twice the size of my sisters and brothers was predeterment, I am loved, with the softest fur, it's shocking how soft I am, like a baby blanket. I smell amazing, my natural scent that is, not the dead fish rubs I have sometimes hihihi. I am the most friendly dog to other dogs, I obey abnormally much for a one year old, the communication we have among ourselfs in this home is amazing, we get along so well with cats and owners. I have a special talent to be the dirtiest dog alive, most of the times, I enjoy almost everything we do, apart from ear cleaning and often bathing, but I tolerate and not make a fuss. Even tho I am spoiled and sometimes beg for food when people eat, or want to semi lay on an empty chair during lunch, I have been raised really well. My owners did an amazing job with me, teaching me by example and trhu play, they go the extra mile for my comfort and trust and I repay them with behaving. It has been all about love and I am loved. I am so very loved. Maja says I have been the best bday gift she ever got. Happy bday to her today, and I will try and be a good boy from now on also, the life which I have couldn't be compared. My family is amazing, sleeping next to Liza every night, chasing and annoying Ed when he is cranky, learning about diffirent tastes and situations, claiming my pillow on the bed, being hugged. if the expression "it's a dogs life" means this...then I hope all pups out there get to live this way. I am loved. Woof! Hihi.

A new pup in the park pack

Yesterday Maja had to fax something so she decided to dognap Lyra and take us both to the park, her sister came with us also. When we arrived we met so many dogs, who raced and played and ran and barked and then...little Sophie came to check us out. Sophie is a tiny 8 week old Parson Russell terrier, who is now in a new home with my owners friends. She is adorably tiny, faisty and can defend  herself, just doesnt know how to bark properly yet hihi. Today as we went to the park in the evening, when the sun goes down and we can normally breathe outside, she was there again, sleeping in her owners lap, tired from a 10 minute walk, hihi those were the days, was lovely being carried around in a hug. A lovely picture of Sophie and me:)

Other than her, we also met a few other dogs tonight, one peed on me haha, he marked me, yuck, had to be showered afterwards, I am not property I am a dog too! Hehe. A poodle defended his lab friend from my curious sniffing, so he bit me in my face, I insulted went away and layed down, shocked since I have never had such a bad confrontation before, but, I am not the fighting kind and I easily learn my lesson, so I stayed away. No harm was done to my pretty face tho, it was more of a disciplinary bite hehe.  Funny things happening in our doggy kingdom, but the evenings are long and cooler now, so a lot of dogs come out to play...I remember this time from last year, very lovely:). Asleep on my elephant toy I dream of tomorrows advantures. Nighty night all:).

Wet dog and cake

Maja's sister took some pictures of me a few days ago, when we were at the river bank, on which I look pretty and as usuall very wet hihi. Yesterday was norwegians national day and today was Magnus' moms birthday, so happy birthsday to both hihi! In celebration of those two day we baked a cake today, even Lyra came to help, and we enjoyed the making of it very much. Pictures to prove it hihi. First the ones Nina took.

Nicely groomed and wet as can be, enjoying the swimming after the stick. And now the making of cake, yum yum.
As you can see, we helped with cleaning hihi, vanilla cream, whipped cream...needs to be cleaned off hihi.

Groomed!

My owners decided it was time for my old hot fur to go. The summer is approaching and it's reaching 37 degrees celsium already, me, I suffer from it a lot and get very tired quickly. So off it went, 6 hours of scissor cutting of my fur. 6 hours of tolerance, which my owners are shocked by, I was so good and behaved, stood still, sat still, layed still for hours...Amazing isn't it, how shockingly good I can be hihi. Since shaving a cocker leads to curls and bad looking fur, we used scissors, which is very very precise work. Every bad cut shows as a line and it was hard work. I do have some lines hihi, we are not pros yet. But this is before and after pictures:)
My fur when I turned one year, long and easily dirty
New skin hihi
Today, playing with my bulldog toy

and this is what we were left with before the vacuuming hihi....I was furry, very very furry, but now...I will be less warm and more relaxed when it's sunny outside. So much fun and worth the work. Hihihi.
and now I am naked as a sheep hehe.

The duck hunter!

So there I was, minding my own buisness, slowely walking and drinking the river water, when a duck, who appears hurt starts flapping wings and taunting me to swim after her. Ofcours I don't listen to my owners, I think i heard Magnus yelling but I had to start paddling like crazy after the duck, who was somehow always just 2 meters ahead of me. Spaniels are known duck hunters so I had to prove to everyone that I can be also. I swam and swam and couldn't reach the duck, but I didn't give up. My owners were calling me, but hey, don't get me wrong I do have instincts sorry. After swimming a 100 meters Maja started to run after me, by the river shore to try and call me out, she cought up when I was approx 250 meters from when I started swimming. I finally reacted and gave up, I swam like crazy and didn't get the damn duck. Booo! Walked shamefully to the shore where my owners were and the duck flew next to us, mocking me by making "Kwak kwak" sounds. She won this fight. And then we saw, she had babies! She pretended to be hurt so I'd chase her and not attack or hurt her babies, tiny little ducklings, so adorable...
She "kwaked" a few more times and enjoyed the water, we went home. I am tired! I had a shower (needed it hihi every single hair on me was wet) and now I am asleep. Deep sleeeeeeeeep. Hihihi ducks are a good exercise!
